IPEG is hiring a data engineer to design and build big data systems for analyzing geospatial data. You will be working directly with economists and researchers leading the lab, in a fast-paced environment. You should: - Be fluent in Python and Scala. - Have loads of experience with Spark or some other Hadoop-based batch analysis systems. - Show knowledge of the current state-of-the-art in open-source distributed computing applications and be comfortable picking the right tools for the tasks. - Previous experience working with AWS or other cloud providers to run distributed applications. - Be comfortable in setting up a private cloud to run distributed batch-analysis programs. - Be interested in geospatial data.
