DatacenterDynamics has announced the list of finalists for the 2015 DCD EMEA Awards, recognizing projects of exceptional merit in the data center sector. Entries have poured in from across the region, including UAE, UK, Ireland, Turkey, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, West Africa, Finland and Djibouti. Competition has been fierce for this year’s awards, part of a unique global series recognizing the most outstanding projects, teams and professionals in the field. Previous winners have included some of the world’s leading brands. This year’s shortlist is the result of a rigorous selection process carried out by an independent judging panel of industry experts, seeking to identify success, leadership, innovation and best practice in data center projects, people and teams. For the first time, 2015 sees the introduction of four new categories to recognise achievement in particular vertical markets: The Enterprise Data Center Award, Public Services Digital Delivery Award, Service Provider Data Center Award and Internet Data Center Award. Chairman of the judges, Professor Ian Bitterlin, commented: “The standard of entries this year has been phenomenal, and it is particularly encouraging to see submissions from such an extensive range of countries”. He continued: “The DCD Awards showcase all that is great about the data center industry and, just as that industry continues to grow exponentially each year, it is good to see them going from strength to strength". As well as the shortlisted categories, further prizes will be presented on the day at the discretion of the judges as part of the following awards: Outstanding Contribution to the Data Center Industry, sponsored by Rittal, and Data Center Evangelist, sponsored by Mercury. Supporting Charity The DCD EMEA Awards 2015 are proud to support the vital work of children's medical research charity Sparks. Awards Ceremony The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on the evening of 10 December, in The Lancaster London Hotel, London UK. The evening will be hosted by comedian and TV celebrity Alexander Armstrong, and former FA Chairman Sir Trevor Booking will be representing Sparks.
