iBwave, the standard for in-building wireless software and training globally, is proud to announce that it has won a “Small Cell Tool Design and Technology Innovation” award together with the Vodafone Group Technology. The awards, which aim to celebrate outstanding achievements within the small cell industry, were presented on Wednesday, June 11th in London as part of the Small Cells World Summit. iBwave has been delivering best-in-class network solutions that streamline the end-to-end indoor planning and design processes and ensure smoother, faster and more cost-effective cellular small cell and Wi-Fi deployments.
The company has enriched its product portfolio in close collaboration with Vodafone, developing advanced features and capabilities that fulfill the mobile operator’s specific requirements for 3D design visualization and optimization, prediction calibration, centralized project management as well as mobile support.
Through its Mobile Planner platform, iBwave has developed a market enabler that uses mobile devices to facilitate data collection, network planning, documentation and other tasks done in the field, making it possible for complete indoor network designs to be created on-site. Given the increasing number of enterprises willing to shift to wireless-only in-building solutions, the ability of performing expedite, accurate and optimized in-building cellular and Wi-Fi planning is becoming of paramount importance to operators looking at providing a better alternative to traditional wired LAN connectivity.
“Understanding our customers’ needs is what has enabled us to consistently define a new class of products that are required by the industry,” says Mario Bouchard, President & CEO at iBwave. “Through our collaboration with Vodafone as well as extensive discussions that we have had with other leading carriers and vendors, we have tailored and optimized our tools to address the specific needs, reality and dynamics of small cell deployments. We are particularly honored to receive this award as it is a testament to our products relevance in the market, as well as our pioneering role in delivering the next wave of enterprise in-building products and services.”
“The entries for this year’s Small Cell Forum annual awards have been of a very high quality, and the wide range of submissions, which reflects the way that a broad ecosystem is growing around small cells, has made the judging process challenging but very interesting” said Caroline Gabriel, Research Director, Maravedis Rethink Technology Research. “Two things are nonetheless critical in any winning or shortlisted category: promising to solve a real market need, and proving the credibility to do so. Coverage and capacity planning across myriad indoor locations is a well-known challenge and wave’s work with a leading network operator – Vodafone – helped to lend the joint solution credibility”.
Now in its sixth year, the Small Cell Industry Awards were open to the entire small cell ecosystem and attracted a record number of entries from vendors and operators worldwide. The winners were selected by an independent panel of judges consisting of highly respected analysts, journalists and industry experts.
In addition to its Small Cell Tool Design and Technology Innovation nomination, iBwave’s VP of Products and Innovation, Benoit Fleury, was also shortlisted in the Individual Contribution category for his involvement in the Small Cell Forum deployment white paper.
