Battery a keypoint for internet of thingsEscrito por Redacción TNI el 03/03/2015 a las 23:06:202112
The Internet of Things (IoT) is here. However, one major challenge persists – battery life. With devices getting ever smaller and more powerful, how can mobile operators help improve efficiencies or improve the services they can offer? At this year’s Mobile World Congress, two companies will be demonstrating solutions that will finally enable mobile operators to extend battery life for IoT and M2M devices and ultimately monetize this new emerging sector. Teclo Networks - http://teclo.net/ Teclo will be announcing a new IoT customer who has deployed its robust and powerful network optimizing solution, the S-Series, to reduce battery life cycles and boost M2M data transfers rates. Thanks to the deployment of the S-Series, carriers can lower their operating costs and deliver a fast and smooth experience for IoT and M2M customers. Teclo’s customers already include a number of tier one operators such as Iliad-owned Free Mobile in France and MTS/VivaCell. W-Locate - http://w-locate.com/ Award winning W-Locate will announce its new strategic partnership with Morpho cards. This new partnership will mean over 700 million SIM cards will have access to location-based services(LBS), which will enable mobile operators to deploy new revenue generating services. Its patented hybrid SIM-based applet allows M2M and IoT devices to have LBS without the need for a power draining and expensive GPS transceiver. Already its platform has been deployed with a number of tier one Asian operators including, Thailand’s largest carrier, AIS. In addition, it will also be demonstrating a number of telco and IoT Smart City use cases for its location-based service platform, XimLoc. These will include:
