Battle for SpectrumEscrito por Redacción TNI el 19/07/2016 a las 22:28:371656
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) led the world by making spectrum available for the next generation of wireless connectivity, 5G. Chris Pearson, President of 5G Americas said “5G Americas applauds the work of the FCC’s Spectrum Frontiers team on leading the world in this historic achievement, making available almost 11 GHz of wireless broadband spectrum in the millimeter wave (mmW) bands for 5G. The FCC’s rules, allowing flexible mobile use of these new bands, will allow our Region to continue to lead the wireless revolution.” 5G Americas – the Voice for 5G and LTE in the Americas – has long advocated getting more licensed spectrum to the market for mobile broadband as it is critical for the Region to maintain its lead in delivering high-speed, innovative wireless applications to subscribers. As 5G Americas has noted, the North American region has led 4G adoption globally, in part because of the FCC’s important auctions of licensed spectrum. The FCC continues this leadership on 5G adoption based on today’s decision.
