Everynet BV, the global network operator leader in LoRaWAN technology, announces the expansion of its national IoT network infrastructure in partnership with Telkom Indonesia, Indonesia's largest telecommunication and network provider.
“Over the last year, Everynet has been laying the ground work along with our partner Telkom Indonesia to ensure full compliance with the stringent national requirements,” says Lawrence Latham, CEO of Everynet. “We were among the first to achieve Kominfo approvals, and so were first to deploy pilot coverage and successful trials in Indonesia, which we undertook in Bali”.
Because of Telkom central role within the Indonesian telecoms market, Everynet is particularly honoured to be chosen as a partner to invest, build-out and operate the national LoRaWAN network infrastructure and to enable the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in Indonesia.
With Everynet’s neutral-host and open technical architecture, as well as its wholesale business model, the Telkom/Everynet joint venture will enable all of Indonesia’s MNOs, ASPs, MSPs & ISPs to offer robust Low-Power Wide-Area (LPWA) IoT services, with the lowest shared costs and the shortest time to revenue. IoT services will allow end users to gather huge amount of previously ignored data, which will help to take informed and real-time decisions on many aspects of Indonesia economic and social life.
“Providing this neutral-host IoT infrastructure will be a big step forward and aligns with the governments intent to enable smart cities with common platforms” says I Ketut Agung Enriko, Telkom Indonesia’s Head of IoT. “Our goal is to enable all IOT players to bring their own specialist focus and domain expertise to drive digital transformation on a massive scale”.
Indonesia is rich in use cases that will benefit from the availability of this lightweight IoT connectivity service: Remote infrastructure monitoring, natural-disaster mitigation, healthcare response to COVID19, metering & smart grid, smart lighting, freight shipping logistics, and many more. Everynet will support all the use-cases with a global and strong ecosystem of partner solutions ready to solve all these real-world challenges. Furthermore, the company will proactively work to develop the local ecosystem of IoT suppliers and systems integrators to generate sustainable growth and local economy.
“The increasing deployment of large scale LoRaWAN networks using Semtech’s LoRa devices reflects a trend toward the growing adoption of IoT globally. In addition, applications leveraging LoRaWAN deliver simple, highly efficient, flexible, and secure IoT solutions,” says Marc Pegulu, Vice President of IoT for Semtech’s Wireless and Sensing Products Group.
The network is ready now for the business community of systems integrators, service providers, developers and end-users in several cities in Indonesia. For more information please access www.telkomiot.com.
